FEATURES

What you get.

Four things matter. Each is described as it works today — no roadmap padding.

01 · THE DEVICE GATE

You decide what’s on your network

Every new screen is a question only you can answer. The first time a device opens lantv, a prompt appears on your computer: yes or no. One yes is remembered; a no watches nothing. No accounts to create, no passwords to hand out.

A schematic of the approval prompt — not a screenshot. The GUI is still being built.

02 · THE LIBRARY

A library made from your folder

Point lantv at the folder where your videos live — that’s the setup. You name and organise things yourself, and lantv fetches no artwork, titles or ratings from anywhere, because it doesn’t talk to the internet at all. Manual by design; the trade-off is listed with the other limitations.

Your folder is the library. Names are yours — nothing is fetched.

03 · EVERY SCREEN

Plays on anything with a browser

Phones, tablets, laptops, TVs and game consoles with a browser — if it can open a web page on your network, it can watch. Nothing to install, nothing new to buy, nobody’s app store in between.

If it opens a web page, it plays your library.

04 · THE LONG FILM

The computer stays awake for the credits

A film is two hours; a computer’s idea of idle is ten minutes. While anything is streaming, lantv holds the machine awake — on Windows and Linux, without touching your power settings — and lets go the moment the last stream ends. Nobody walks to the study mid-scene to jiggle a mouse.

Illustrative readout, not product UI. Works the same on Windows and Linux.

That’s the whole surface. The limits are listed just as plainly — read them →
